New Year...New Bag...New Everything

Thanks to everyone for helping make 2009 a great success!  This year was an interesting one as WSD transitioned from a part time business into a full time operation.  For a single mom with 2 young kids,  it was an exceptionally scary step.  I owe a lot of thanks to my mom for all the weekend babysitting she provided throughout the year, when the workload of full time seamstress & mom  was just too much for me to handle on my own.   But as a the year comes to a close I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the challenges & accomplishments of the past year and am looking forward to an exciting 2010.

The response to the new bags has been great & I'm excited to announce another new bag coming in 2010.  This bag is a larger bag designed to replace the current Berta camera bag.  If you are in search of a larger bag & like the exterior look of Maia, but prefer the interior pocket setup of Moxy than this may be the bag for you.

The outside of the bag looks similar to Maia, but there is a 2" height difference between the 2 bags.  This gives you a lot more vertical room to store items in the main storage area as well as creating nice deep vertical pockets.

The interior has 3 padded open pockets along the backside & 1 open unpadded pocket along the front.  The bag is padded with 1/2" high density foam, which provides more protection & support.  The bottom is has a chipboard bottom covered with a layer of the 1/2" hd foam.  The lining is waterproof pack cloth which is incredibly durable & designed to stand up to lots of wear & tear.

For more images of the new bag, please visit the flickr page.  I'll be offering this bag at the Etsy store in the next week or two.

And, last but not least, the biggest change for WSD ever is underway.  Hopefully, if all goes according to plan (and it rarely does) WSD will undergo a name change & get an all new website at the start of 2010.  The name change has been something I've wanted to do for quite some time, but finding the time to make all the appropriate changes seems impossible at times.  The start of the new year is a perfect time for the transition, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all will go according to plan.  I'll post more details as soon as I have them.

Thanks again to all of my great clients & friends for making 2009 great!!
